The past two years have been tough on everyone, mentally and physically

Remember when the pandemic first hit and everything went on lockdown?  Restaurants were closed, businesses were closed, and gyms were closed!

Talk about cabin fever.  I went stir crazy trying to work out with the equipment I had at home: dumbbells, barbells, pullup bars, weights, and a stationary bike.  What I was missing was a punching bag.  Since we don’t have the space for a heavy punching bag at home, I had to find other ways to get in my boxing and muay thai. (In case you’re not familiar, muay thai is a martial art and combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.)

What I do have at home is a big tree in front of our house and that got me thinking. I purchased a padded column wrap, like the ones you see around goal posts so players won’t get injured if they run into them, wrapped it around the trunk of the tree and did my workouts.  It worked okay, but it wasn’t great.  I looked for other options and realized there was not a portable kick pad on the market.  After numerous trials and revisions, we’ve finally developed the ideal kick pad. I’m not suggesting you cancel your gym membership, but this is a great alternative at home for that quick workout when you can’t get to the gym. It can be stored under your bed or folded up in a closet.

It brings a whole new meaning to the term “tree hugger.”  All you need is a sturdy tree or pole and Treepad Workout for your complete workout at home.
